Little Things

Ya'll  this week has just been craziness and next week is only going to get more NUTZO. Who decided it was a good idea to pick up and move again? Right....me. Well, at least in 6 days I will finally be seeing my honey again. We are missing each other like crazy.

But even with all the crazy going on this week (like my yard sale only having FIVE people show up in the 93 degree heat) I still thought it was important to see the little things that made this time special. Cause after all, I only have one more week to enjoy Oregon before I'm onto a whole new adventure.

So here's my list for the week:

This cute face started preschool this week and did great! I cannot believe I've been her nanny since she was 3 months old and now she's going to school 3 full days a week! AND I only have one more morning with her before I move. I've been crying about this all week.

Gosh I just love her to bits. And will miss that funny sweet little girl SO MUCH.

Also went to the zoo with my other little this last week and we got to see the best thing!

Yes elephants are by FAR my favorite animal and this guy totally dove into the water to take a little bath. It was AMAZING to see him dive under the water and come back out with a trunk full that he would then squirt all over himself. Made my day.

I taught myself to embroider this week! I love the way these onesies are turning out and hopefully soon I'll have them listed in the SHOP. Until then you can still shop and 25% of each sale is going toward The Shine Project's Change 4 Change.

And my final little thing: Knowing that in just 6 days, despite all the mess in my apt, all that I have to get done, and all that hasn't gone well....I will be seeing my man and starting a new journey together. It's really the most exciting thing and it's worth everything to me. I can't wait.

what. i'm. wearing.

First of all I want to thank you all for your sweet comments from this post. It was very hard for me to open my heart that way but at the same time, I think it was the most beautiful post I've ever written on this blog. There is more to share about that but I will do so when the time is right. Very soon.

For now I want to show you a bit of what I captured from days last week where I actually had normal clothes on. It's been a rough one the past seven days but my body and mind are over the hump and I am happy for what the future holds. There are many exciting things on the horizon and wow are you going to love them!

Here's what I managed to wear:

TOP: Vintage || TOES: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri {Sonic Boom} || Necklace: TinkerBBoutique

Just Me: Glasses, Braided hair || Love: What My Wall Wore by danielle burkleo || Vintage: We Heart Shops  || Bestie: ADORABLE.

Heavenly Headbands

Last week I gladly joined the Headband Challenge from Little Miss Momma. I think I did alright considering I work with kiddos and they constantly enjoy playing with my hair and pulling at my "pretties" in my hair.

Evidence of my (and one cute little girl) wearing of headbands:

Pretties ||  2, 3, 5 & 8 || SHOP
Pretties || 1 & 9 || SHOP
Pretties || 4, 6, & 7 || SHOP

Getting silly. Looking pretty.

I'm delirious ya'll. But I have been trying much harder to "look purdy". And to be honest... the trying really actually makes me feel more comfortable and confident. That's not to say I don't still come home exhausted (hi there tonight!) and throw on my cozy messy t-shirt from HS and my fella's boxers. So cozy.

So without more silly babble from this nutzo (who's also highly distracted by season four of Dexter, seriously---obsessed) here are my purdy looks from this week.

Top and tank: Forever XXI

Tank: Old Navy
Jacket: Forever XXI
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: TOMS
Headband: LifeByHand
iPhone Cover: Naptime Diaries

It's official

After being so unhappy for so long with roommates......

OH MMM GEE. Anyone who knows me well, knows that this is a HUGE deal for me. I lived alone in college (it was amazing) and I tried the roommate thing for awhile now post-college and....

I JUST HATE IT. I need my privacy, space and quiet. And honestly I'm hard to live with because I'm very OCD and particular about how I want things to be in a house and I expect other people to respect that. You know, keep things clean, quiet and just a general respect. Doesn't happen with roommates.

But as of July 1st.....I'll have my own keys. To seriously the most gorgeous studio apt I could have ever hoped for. I cannot WAIT to take you guys on a picture tour. Hardwood floors, bright yellow walls, stainless steel kitchen appliances, old vintage feel.....WEEEH!.

Now I just have to not lose it on my roommates until I move out. Which means LOTS of time at the fella's house. LOTS. Only 2 MORE WEEKS! Then peace.

Serenity now.

Weekends

These are my weekends.

Wake up with my fella. LATE. always. Ahhhh.
He usually makes a little coffee.
And breakfast.
I'm not lazy, he just likes/prefers to cook.
We get on our laptops and do "work" for a couple hours.

Shower.
And the EVER exciting process of make-up, clothes, etc.
I consider myself a pretty low-maintenance girl.
Especially on the weekends.
I can be ready in 30 mins or less!
Fella thinks it could be even less if I'd just give up the make-up.
He says he doesn't know why I do it anyway.
I look gorgeous as is.
He just doesn't understand the years of conditioning girls have.
And I will go without it.
Sometimes.
He's sweet.

Love that necklace like I do?
Get it here: TinkerBBoutique
{Buy 2, get 1 free right now!}

Then after we are finally ready to go somewhere,
We usually have plans with friends.
Cause my fella enjoys being social.
And sometimes so do I.
IF I can stop thinking of ALL that I need to get done.
So friends,
SORRY if I ever seem distracted or stressed.
I just have SO MUCH on my mind.
ALL THE TIME.

We really love going to enjoy a beer.
Seeing a cheap movie.
Or frozen yogurt!
Or just hanging together is always nice too.

And then.
sometimes.
I am able to get some crafting,
emailing,
and blogging done.
WHICH I LOVE.
It's great.
We snuggle together.
And my fella helps me by modeling my crafts.
or I might be the one who makes him help.
And we watch some Netflix,
Or Hulu.
And talk.
And laugh.
And there's the weekend. Pretty much anyway.

A Day in the Life.
Link it, my pretties.

{A Day in the Life}

I am in LOVE with linky parties. Have you ever participated? Someone picks a theme, they blog about it, usually it happens weekly, and everyone can join in, blog about their own story of the theme, and "link it up". I'm not always the most consistent with these but I do try and link up with Casey's [On your Heart] every Friday. It's a very reflective and good for my mind to get out all that I didn't even know I was thinking deeply about.

But here's my idea: I will be starting {A Day in the Life}....a weekly linky party where you can tell us about a day in the life of anyone or anything. Tell me about yourself, your dog, your kiddos, your friend who's sick, your husband who's fabulous, just ANYTHING. Tell me about a day as a mother, a wife, a business owner, a crafter....you get the idea. I thought of this while putting on my make-up a few mornings ago. I thought, "this is something I do almost daily....and it's funny because so do MANY others" but the best thing about it is that we all do it differently. A day in your life as an Etsy shop owner is probably nothing like mine; or maybe it's exactly the same. Do you also craft out of a re-usable grocery bag on your boyfriend's couch in the WEE hours of the night?

So look for the button, grab it, and link up! I can't wait to hear all about you!

On my [heart]

Wow I am exhausted. Does anyone else feel this way this week? I love my blog and crafting so much and yet somehow I never make enough time for the things I love the most. Frustrating for sure.
But what's really on my heart this week is this:

via  & via

.....FINDING MY OWN APT! I just LOVE everything here and wish I could have spaces of my own to decorate like this.

I have really been irritated with my living situation lately. I live with roommates, in a house that isn't mine or that I can stake ANY kind of claim to because I literally just rent a room there. The color of my room is cotton candy purple and it's always ridiculously cold in there. People are loud. I get NO SLEEP at night. I'm hardly there because my fella doesn't have a vehicle and so I typically am the one driving and staying at his place. (Note the exasperation when I state that fact) I just feel like at 25 years old I want to be in MY OWN SPACE. I need a craft area (right now it's a bag) and the ability to decorate.
This is especially hard for me because all through college I lived on my own in my own apts. I LOVED having full-control over every piece of living space and just that privacy. It's just HOW I unwind. And I think NOT having this for the last TWO years has been a major point of stress and anxiety in my life.
Don't get me wrong either; I would LOVE to live with my fella. We spend SO MUCH of our time together already and I just think besides being easier (than living out of a duffel bag 4-5 days a week) it would also be comfortable and fun. But it's not a step he's ready for yet. Sigh.
SO I need my own place. And I'm searching. But Portland is a tricky city. It's beautiful but CRAZY expensive and living alone is pretty much the most costly thing you can do. Unless you are a good searcher like me. I will find a place. Make it my own. And be HAPPY.

On my [heart]

My lovely friend Casey has a new linky challenge for us.
I decided I really wanted to participate.
We have every Friday to share what is on our heart.
You can share too.
I will show you how to after my share time.

Here it goes:

Currently my heart is quite confused.
I've been having a lot of those "talk at boyfriend" convos lately.
You know the kind that make you feel like a nutcase,
and him like you'll never stop talking.
But he usually listens quite well.
sometimes.

 I've written here and here
why my heart is so frustrated and confused lately.
And yet no matter how much I move forward,
toward making it happier,
it still feels this way.
It's like I'm trapped in a circle!

And I know I need to have patience
and confidence
But truth be told,
those are not my strong points.

Tonight I am going to put together a "pitch" of sorts.
An introduction.
Of myself as a writer,
and my children's book series.
And next week a real life children's book publisher,
is going to READ it.

YIKES.

This is the dream.
But I am terrified of it.
Why?

Who knows what she'll say.
Plus...
I'm not worried that she won't publish it.
She probably won't.
And that's ok, because I WILL get published someday.
By someone.
But I'm more worried that she won't like it at all.
That she'll laugh in my face.
And that I'll have wasted my time and creative effort for no reason.
And I know none of this is valid.
I know she won't laugh in my face.
Even if she hates it,
She'll give me feedback that's useful.
But it's just a scary thing.

BUT....
If I want to be this:

via

...AND I REALLY REALLY
WANT TO.

Then I have to do the work.
Scary,
Or
Not.

That's what's on my heart this week.
