Drinking: La Croix sparkling grapefruit water... water CAN taste amazing.

Wanting: to just lose those 20lbs while still eating all things delicious. or to just not care.
Looking: at a very quiet space that needs invigorating.
Playing: too many songs in my head... i should probably turn on some real music.
Wasting: time not doing something i love. time to focus on my future and what i want.

Wishing: that it were already friday so we could go on our anniversary trip to Vegas and be in that huge Venetian hotel bed watching free cable while drinking wine. whew.
Enjoying: late night chats with the fella in bed. we always come up with the silliest conversations that make me melt all my stress away and just smile.
Waiting: for answers. it's all out there. now we have to wait.

Loving: that it's about to be five great, challenging, growing and incredibly wonderful years with fella and i can't wait to see what the next five bring us.

Following: my heart in every risk i take moving forward.
Noticing: my scratch and dent in my pretty new car. knew it would happen eventually; guess i'm glad i wasn't the one who did it? #silverlining #maybe
Knowing: i don't use proper grammar, i haven't had a haircut in almost a year and my nail polish is three days past removing....  but it doesn't really matter.

Currently.

obsessing: over all the posts around the country about autumn. It's truly my favorite time of the year and here in LA it's still way too HOT (over 100* last week) and I'm obsessing in a very unflattering way over posts with crisp colorful leaves and warm cozy scarfs. Oh, and boots!
reading: Gunn's Golden Rules by Tim Gunn. This is most definitely a read for anyone who loves Project Runway but also just anyone who loves all things fashion-related. It's such a raw and real talk about life with a mix of great and truthful stories from "the industry". I'm LOVING this read and it's the perfect thing to snuggle up to at night. Well, and my snoring guy.
watching: all that I can until fall shows return. I cannot wait for Grey's Anatomy to come back so until then I've filled my days re-watching The Office for the 10th time, finishing the final season of Dexter, yelling at the results of SYTYCD and sneaking the occasional Real Housewife or Teen Mom. don't judge. What shows do you love? I'm ALWAYS in need of something to turn on while cooking or crafting.
planning: our FIFTH anniversary next month! Holy Moly. Can't believe how much I love that guy of mine and how far we've come together in these five years. Now if he'll just put a ring on it..... sheesh!
sick of: this heat! oh wait, I already told you that. I'm also really tired of hearing about Miley Cyrus and the twerking. am I the only one who feels old now and thinks all this ridiculousness should just be put to a stop? I guess that's what 27 years old will do to you.
thinking about: BIG changes happening in the next six months. So much that I wish I could share and so much that I'm totally unsure about. But taking leaps all over the place in life and just hoping there's a parachute attached so I don't end up on my butt. How's that for a closing thought?
what are you currently up to, friend? if you have your own "currently" post, be sure to include it below - i would love to check it out. and as always, thanks to Danielle  and illy for the original inspiration of this post.

Happy Monday

I feel like working two jobs always means that the weekends go by so FAST! I'm usually trying to relax, spend time with my man, clean the house, catch up on emails, make shop orders or attend lots of crazy events!
Getting ready for the dreaded pub shift

But yesterday I really wanted to take a day off from everything and just have fun. So where to go in California for fun? Well Six Flags Magic Mountain of course!

We slept in till about 9am, grabbed delicious empanadas from Red Ribbon bakery (if you haven't had these an live close to one of these bakeries I highly recommend you get your booty there and eat some) and then headed out to the park.

via
Now I'll admit, the park IS in the middle of the desert and I hadn't fully thought through exactly HOW hot it would be or that we'd literally have sweat dripping between our boobs (oh wait, that was probably just me) BUT nonetheless it felt great just to be outside and flying through the air on some pretty crazy coasters.

There's something I just adore about being at an amusement park. Feeling like a kid with no worries or fears and just feeling the adrenaline and excitement pump through you as you travel quickly through the air. It just makes me so happy.

Enjoying a frozen lemonade, soaking wet

AND to be there with my fella, NOT talking about work and hearing his laughs as we fly upside down… well that's just pure joy.

And although we lost a pair of sunglasses on the rapid ride, couldn't stomach a FULL day of coasters like when we were younger and had to wait in some hot lines; it was TOTALLY worth it to just let go.

Oh and the sushi date we had when we got home was pretty amazing too! I just adore spending a day with my man, acting like a kid and not worrying about anything else.

Cause in the end, these are the days we'll remember and talk about.

coffee together

First of all, WELCOME to all the new friends from "Followers Fest". If you haven't checked it out yet, you should certainly do so. It's a great way to meet LOTS of new friends! And if you are new here, feel free to poke around. There's lots to see. I'm so happy to have you. Also, I will work my hardest to get to all your blogs to sneak a peek. Thanks for being here.

If we were to sit and have a cup of coffee together, this is what I'd tell you:
{inspired by this post from Casey Wiegand}

I've been in a very bad mood this week. It's because I am unsettled. I am working on it but I'm much like a turtle in that it takes me awhile to get somewhere. But I always get there.

I'm hard at work on an actual winter collection for my shop. It's the first time I'm trying to do something that all works together and I really hope it goes well. I LOVE making things but have found that being a shop owner is really difficult. Every time a sale comes through my email I am so THANKFUL.

I'm not very good at cooking. In fact almost any meal takes me nearly two hours to make. But since I'm not working right now,  and my man works very long days, I want to be there for him like he is for me. So I try....

I applied for a job yesterday that I'm totally qualified for. They emailed me back within the hour to ask me to interview. I could definitely take this job. But when I moved to CA I promised myself that I'd try to go after what I LOVED instead of just what I knew how to do. But I also believe that I need to make money. Torn about this one.

I'm absolutely in love with some things that I know I can't have. But maybe for xmas? These beauties have been in my Etsy cart for awhile. They will be mine. I want one of these bags and I don't even care what color. Seriously. There's a print here that would make my heart pitter-patter if a special man secretly bought it and gave it to me for anytime. Pretty much all {just.lovely.things} are to-die for, but this band is simply gorgeous.

It's been lovely sharing with you this week.

Little Things

Ya'll  this week has just been craziness and next week is only going to get more NUTZO. Who decided it was a good idea to pick up and move again? Right....me. Well, at least in 6 days I will finally be seeing my honey again. We are missing each other like crazy.

But even with all the crazy going on this week (like my yard sale only having FIVE people show up in the 93 degree heat) I still thought it was important to see the little things that made this time special. Cause after all, I only have one more week to enjoy Oregon before I'm onto a whole new adventure.

So here's my list for the week:

This cute face started preschool this week and did great! I cannot believe I've been her nanny since she was 3 months old and now she's going to school 3 full days a week! AND I only have one more morning with her before I move. I've been crying about this all week.

Gosh I just love her to bits. And will miss that funny sweet little girl SO MUCH.

Also went to the zoo with my other little this last week and we got to see the best thing!

Yes elephants are by FAR my favorite animal and this guy totally dove into the water to take a little bath. It was AMAZING to see him dive under the water and come back out with a trunk full that he would then squirt all over himself. Made my day.

I taught myself to embroider this week! I love the way these onesies are turning out and hopefully soon I'll have them listed in the SHOP. Until then you can still shop and 25% of each sale is going toward The Shine Project's Change 4 Change.

And my final little thing: Knowing that in just 6 days, despite all the mess in my apt, all that I have to get done, and all that hasn't gone well....I will be seeing my man and starting a new journey together. It's really the most exciting thing and it's worth everything to me. I can't wait.
